Ms. Lastra, the assistant principal helped me and my mother when I was electric and awful my first year at Sts. Peter and Paul. My mother says she is an Angel and I agree. She told my mother to pray and not to loose hope. The following school year I earned student of the month for good conduct and effort the first month in first grade. When Ms. Lastra, back then Ms. Zeno called my name and she pinned me. You should have seen the smile on her face. She was so proud of me. I still have the pictures with all of the special moments in my life and that was one of those moments.
Ms. Davila was very special too. She could make me make sense of many things. She could talk to me and other kids at a level that we could understand and relate to. She is very pro children and can reason with teachers and parents to see our point of view. I don’t know if it’s a coincidence, but Ms. Davila, elementary and middle school, plus Ms. Avila, high school rhyme. Those two counselors’ have a lot of common sense and I sure learned a lot to make me a better person.
My two coaches in elementary and middle school also touched my heart. Coach Tarratz is a tough cookie that tells it as it is. But she has a tender and loving heart and advised me about right and wrong. To this day, she still tells me that I know what to do. Coach Oharriz was always firm, strict about rules and dress code. But he helped me and my mom a lot. I made the J.V. basketball and varsity team in middle school. Thanks to Coach Oharriz for making me the best player I could be and believing in me.
Then, I grew a little older and in middle school in the same Sts. Peter and
Now I’m in a public high school. Miami High is the place to be! Dr. Tosado, our school principal, Ms. Mendez, the assistant principal for my grade, and Ms. Avila are like family that really care about kids first. Ms. Moore, my Algebra I teacher cared so much that she would help us in class and after school. We learned our equations and on the last nine weeks I passed the equations test on the first try with an “A.” That was a big improvement. You should have seen me at the beginning of ninth grade and then seen me grow and learn. My Earth and Space teacher Mr. Rivera was very understanding and kind. He could relate to me being the youngest son in my family because his birth order was the same. He was the youngest son too, and he knew how you are always compared to the rest of the brothers and sisters. It’s hard when you have a big brother that makes the National Honor Roll, J.V., then varsity basketball team in high school, bowling, cross country, plus track and field. A sister that is in English Gifted and is smart as can be. Then some teachers that have me later discover I am more immature and silly. But not all teachers saw me as the shadow. They liked me and loved me for me. I wish to thank Ms. Herrera for putting up with my silliness and yet never giving up on me and Ms. Cosculluela for taking care of me too. My world history teacher thought I was adorable as he told my mom and said I was very smart but a clown and I deserved a B2D. He was 100% right. I hope I grow up and get more serious because I wish to be a firefighter to help people and save lives. My career and research teacher helped me discover my future goal. Thank God I have a life with people that care and are my Angels in Heaven and Earth.

I love to talk on the phone and chat online with my friends. I love to make people laugh and I am sometimes compared to Eddie Murphy. When my friends and family laugh when I act silly it makes me feel good. When I go to visit Mario, Samantha, or Alex S., their moms laugh real loud when I tell jokes, walk and hop like a frog and just act as immature as I wish. I can’t act like that in school or at home because there is a time to be serious and a time to act like a fool. I love to go to the movies and parties.
